This is Camptonville School with announcements for the week of March 11th.

I hope that you enjoyed the sunny skies today as the weather for the rest of the week looks a bit unsettled. If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour for daylight savings and try to get the kids to bed early tonight!

The School Site Council meets this Monday, March 12th after school at 3 pm. The agenda is posted and we welcome all parents and community members to join us.

Our monthly awards assembly takes place this Wednesday, March 14th at 8:45 pm. Wednesday is also a minimum day for professional development. Kindergarten students begin school at 8:25 and all students are dismissed at 12:45 pm.

Thursday is also the last day of the Reading Marathon, so read, read, read, collect a few more sponsors, and don't forget to turn your sponsor sheets in on the 15th.

There will be no bus transportation this Thursday afternoon, March 15h. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you and have a wonderful evening!

This is Camptonville School with announcements for the week of March 4th.

March 2018 certainly came in like a lion, keeping us guessing as to what the sky would actually bring, but it looks like the weather for the week ahead is going to settle down and be more spring-like!

We hope that students have taken this time to chill out and read whether it was by the wood stove, in bed, or cuddled up on the couch! Remember to write your minutes in your reading logs and keep on reading!!!

Electives begin this Thursday, March 8th at 1:10 for 3rd through 8th graders. We are excited to have some new class offerings for the students, and are continually grateful to the parents and community members who are volunteering their time to help!

The Student Leadership Council returned Saturday night from an amazing REACH Conference. We look forward to having these students share what they learned from experiencing Challenge Day, listening to Keynote Speaker Davey Muise, and the Odyssey Ropes Course. Thanks to Reid Pearcy for volunteering to help chaperone and to Norm Ross for getting us there and back

There will be no bus transportation this Thursday afternoon, March 8th. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Stay warm and have a wonderful evening!

This is Camptonville School with announcements for the week of February 25th.

Circumstances last week lead me once again to give thanks for our wonderful community resources. Camptonville’s Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Forest Service and departments from our surrounding communities, bravely worked to protect the town of Camptonville, including the school, from a devastating structure fire on Thursday evening.

Congratulations to the Cougars players and coaches for a fantastic basketball season. A special shout out to our eighth graders Elliott, Ryder, Taylor, Kaleyah, and Jesse Locatelli for giving it their all!

Thanks to all the parents for putting on Friday night’s successful Bingo fundraiser and to all those who donated the wonderful prizes!

The Student Leadership Council will be leaving for REACH this Thursday, March 1st and returning on Saturday evening. Those students should bring their gear to school by Wednesday. Don’t forget to send warm clothes, rain gear, extra shoes, and a water bottle.

There will be no bus transportation home this Thursday afternoon, March 1st due to the field trip. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please look for report cards to come home this week.

Thank you for your support and have a wonderful evening!

Last week had some amazing high points thanks to our students and staff. Our Student Leadership Council hosted a wonderful Valentines Event for their preschool and primary school friends. It was lovely to see our older and younger students interacting and having so much fun together! Likewise, the kick-off to the reading marathon was inspiring and successful thanks to Mrs. Spiers and the rest of the staff. The students participated in multiage activities and were treated to snow cones to begin the period of chilling out and reading. Students appreciate any amount of sponsorship and support to raise money for field trips and class enrichment.

The School Board meets this Wednesday, February 21st at 5 pm for their monthly meeting. The agenda is posted. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

The bracket will be available for players and others who are interested tomorrow. Please go and cheer them on in their match-up against Chicago Park!!!

The Parent Club is hosting Bingo Night this Friday, February 23rd at the Camptonville Community Center. A delicious pulled pork dinner will be served beginning at 5 pm and the first game starts at 6. It’s only $10 for dinner and one card. This fundraiser is always a high energy family event, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to support our students with free range local beef and repairs to the amphitheater.

We will be holding a pre-scheduled school-wide practice lockdown drill this Wednesday at 10:45 am. School safety is our highest school priority and the topic has been on all of our staff meeting agendas this year. As you know it is a multi-layered issue and our staff and administration understands that it takes the entire school community to protect our most precious resource. I will be sending home a letter sharing what we are doing here at school while also asking parents to help be our eyes and ears outside of school. Being proactive and responsive to the needs of our students and neighbors is a common sense measure that I hope we can all come together to support.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a wonderful evening!
